Updates on the Blog and Network

There’s been quite a bit going on behind the scenes over at Southern Fried Science, across the Gam, and in the marine blogging world these last few weeks. A few updates for you all:

Please welcome Iris to the Gam! Iris writes about salmon at From Alevin to Adult.  Our little network is celebrating it’s eighth month on the web and continues to grow.

If you’re gearing up for a field season this summer, you should consider writing for Journeys. It’s a great place for graduate students to begin developing that broader impacts statement. Instructions for how to apply can be found here.

Finding Melville’s Whale is on hiatus for at least a month while I catch up on things other than reading classic American literature and writing poetry.

You may have noticed a donation widget on the left sidebar. Once again we’re doing a fundraiser to Bonehenge, our favorite community supported, local marine science education project. This year we will match up to $250 in donations, so you can double your support for science education.

Congratulations to Dr. Alastair Dove on joining the Deep Sea News team!

Do you know what this is? Do you know what it means? Find out in five days!
