I will be giving some public talks on shark science and conservation this summer. Here’s how to find me!

Tuesday, July 7th, Silver Spring, Maryland (Wheaton Library, 5:30 P.M.)
This talk is kid friendly, and is an overview of shark science and conservation, as well as my own story. There will be plenty of time for Q&A, and I will have copies of my book “Why Sharks Matter” for sale afterwards. More details:

Wednesday, July 8th, New Orleans, Louisiana. (Big Couch Performing Arts Center, 7:00 P.M.)
Along with other experts who will be in New Orleans attending the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists, join me for a fun night of science outreach at the Big Couch Performing Arts Center. We’ll give a quick overview of our scientific research, and then the Big Couch’s resident improv comedy performers will create a show based on our work! I will have a few copies of my book “Why Sharks Matter” for sale afterwards. More details and free tickets:

I’ll be particpating in Shark Fest at the Natural History Society of Maryland for the fourth time! Want me to come speak to your group? I’d be delighted, and I will come anywhere with an audience and a speaker travel budget. Please email me at WhySharksMatter @ Gmail. I can also speak virtually if that’s easier.
Want to get your own copy of my book? You can get Why Sharks Matter here (or at your favorite local bookstore), and my second book Why Sustainable Seafood Matters is now available for preorder.
